War and Peace – Leo Tolsto

DATE: MAY/2017

OUTLINE: S story of how a man and family eventually find peace and contempt after war.

REVIEW: I was expecting a ground breaking experience from this book but have to write that, alas, no. Underwhelm. Perhaps I cant see the book for its metaphorical value or it literal skill but there we go. To me it was essentially a multi level story that covers a family passage of time through a worn torn period and more importantly the intra-personal discovery of a mans view on what things really matte in life. It becomes largely dependant, at points, on people adopting a religious belief in some way or another. Talk of god being the divine mighty and all that matters is his love and acceptance. Not my thing.
