OUTLINE: Forget doing everything and just do anything, just one thing at a time.
This book is so good the first thing I have done is started to listen to it again from the beginning. It encompasses several keystone pieces of advice and roles them all up into one book with one linking concept. One Thing.
The author talks about having NOW GOALS where by you envisage your someday goal, way to big to achieve in a day, but then you figure out quickly what the 5 year goal would be to support the life goal. You then figure out the preceding 1 years goal, the 1 month goal, the one week goal and then the 1 day goal. Then you ask yourself ‘what is the one thing that i could do RIGHT NOW to help that 1 day goal’.
He then has great practical tips to help achieve this like time blocking which is a great idea where you refuse to interact in anything that does not serve the purpose of that NOW GOAL for a total of 4 hours a day. Then you track how many days in a row you can do that. He also links it to Pareto’s 80/20 law, The domino effect, which I won’t ruin for you, an the difference between working hard at something and working at something with a purpose instead. I couldn’t recommend this book enough and almost wish it was the first one that I had read! Download it and listen to it now. Thats exactly what I am going to do. NOW
